A minor stumbling block

Well some good news today...... My son has learned to ride a two wheel bicycle! I was begininng to wonder if we would ever get him finished with that task. But he has finally learned and is very happy and proud of himself.

Now, I have seven rows left on my ugly Commonwealth of Virginia non-usable dishcloth and what happens? I dropped a freaking stitch. This is a major bummer because I have no clue how I am to fix it. I really want to finish this damn thing and move on to something else, something that I really want to make.

I found this project http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/90383AD.html?noImages and aside from the gay ass looking guy modeling it I think it would make a cool project. My thought is that this might fit under my motorcycle helmet. Major problem is that you need to use circular needles and I don't think I'm even close to moving up yet so guess it is back to the design search.

Still Working on the ugly VA cloth

Man........ I am almost finished with my first ever knitting project, it's kicking my ass. I'm on row 47 of a 59 row dish cloth; the only problem is mine will not be functional because I made it out of Red Heart Super Saver yarn instead of cotton.

Had to take my daughter to a middle school orientation last night. They actually get electives nowadays, who knew. We walked around the building and talked to teachers for the most part I was impressed. However, in the Library they had four chess boards set up, I don't know who is teaching chess there but come on...... at least have the board orientated correctly.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Time to join in the blog world

Okay, this is my first post....... What can I say but damn, I've been unemployed since freaking July 09 and I think I may be losing my mind.

I like to think of myself as a regular guy, I drink beer, like to enjoy an occasional cigar, love to ride my motorcycle, and yes I'm a pig..... I look at all women who come into view. Sorry if that offends you but I might as well be honest...... I like women.

So now that we have identified the fact that I am straight what's all this about knitting. Well, my daughter is learning how to knit. She took an enrichment class after school a few weeks ago; while my wife was picking her up I somehow got volunteered as the parent who would learn so as to help her out. Have no idea how that happened but it did.

Not knowing how to knit I did what any self respecting guy would do; I slid into Michaels and casually made my way back to the knitting department. Once there I found a book called "I taught myself to knit", found the most masculine looking yarn I could and scooted to the register hoping no one was paying attention.

I am on http://ravelry.com now as Dadnlex so follow along and see how this train wreck works out.
